Prime Minister Nawaf Salam held a working meeting at the Grand Serail with the Regional Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Ernesto Ramirez Rigo, in the presence of the IMF's Resident Representative in Lebanon, Frederico Lima, and the Prime Minister's Premier advisors.
The discussion reportedly touched on reform issues and laws related to the financial and monetary situation, and the progress achieved so far.
They also discussed preparations for the fall meetings, scheduled to take place in Washington starting October 13, in which Lebanon will participate with a delegation including several ministers, the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, as well as a number of general directors and specialized experts. These meetings will provide an opportunity to meet with senior officials of the IMF and the World Bank.
Bilateral meetings will also be held with a number of donor funds to inform them of the progress made and to attract further contributions to the reconstruction process.
