President of the Republic Joseph Aoun met with Kamal Hayek, Chairman and Director General of Electricité du Liban (EDL), who briefed him on the institution’s current operations and the ongoing repair works in southern towns, villages, and Beirut’s southern suburbs. 

Discussions also covered efforts to remove illegal network connections and future projects aimed at strengthening Lebanon’s power sector in coordination with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The President also received Sheikh Ali Mahmoud Kadour, Head of the Islamic Alawite Council in Lebanon, with whom he discussed the community’s affairs and ways to enhance its representation and access to public sector positions within state administrations and institutions.
