Free Patriotic Movement leader, MP Gebran Bassil, received Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon Chen Chuandong, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the FPM's Vice President for Political Affairs Martine Najem Kteily, and Bachir Haddad.

According to a statement from the FPM's press office, the discussion during the meeting touched on ways to enhance cooperation between Lebanon and China in the various fields.

The attendees also discussed political developments in Lebanon and the region.

MP Bassil emphasized "the importance of Lebanon's openness to all friendly countries, both East and West."

For his part, the Chinese ambassador emphasized "the strength of the historical relations between the Lebanese and Chinese peoples."
