The US position on Lebanon has entered a new phase, marked by praise for President Joseph Aoun and his role in disarming Hezbollah, with Washington reaffirming its full support for ensuring that all weapons remain under the authority of the state.

This shift places Lebanon firmly on the emerging regional peace map taking shape after Gaza, under the principle of "peace through strength."

Meanwhile, American circles are closely monitoring developments in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa. Diplomatic sources told MTV that the areas recently entered by the Lebanese Army are largely destroyed zones previously bombed by Israel.

The sources added that disarmament should not be limited to the devastated areas alone.
