Austrian Ambassador to Lebanon, Franziska Honsowitz-Friessnigg, hosted a reception at Villa Audi Gardens in Achrafieh to celebrate Austria’s National Day.
The event was attended by Environment Minister Dr. Tamara El Zein, representing President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Judge Nawaf Salam; MP Hadi Abou Al-Hassan representing Speaker Nabih Berri; alongside senior military, diplomatic, and political figures.
In her remarks, Ambassador Honsowitz-Friessnigg highlighted Austria’s 70 years of UN membership, 30 years in the EU, and its long-standing neutrality. She praised strong Austrian–Lebanese ties in culture, economy, and peacekeeping, including UNIFIL and UNTSO participation, and announced a new Eurowings direct flight between Beirut and Salzburg starting December 15.
