Prime Minister Nawaf Salam wrote the following on X:
Today, I received the Saudi delegation visiting Lebanon to discuss the steps required to resume Lebanese exports to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. I have instructed all relevant authorities to move quickly to resolve any obstacles hindering the return of this vital contributor to Lebanon’s economy.
This initiative comes in follow-up to the discussions held during President Joseph Aoun’s meeting, as well as my own meeting, with His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. The positions of His Highness and the Kingdom in supporting Lebanon and its stability are recognized by all. They have our full appreciation, gratitude, and lasting affection.
On this occasion, I reaffirmed to the delegation our commitment that Lebanon will not be used as a platform to undermine the security of its Arab brothers, nor as a route for smuggling drugs or any prohibited substances.
I also welcomed the Saudi delegation participating in the “Beirut 1” conference, whose presence in Beirut gives a strong boost to Lebanon’s economic recovery.
