The Israeli army announced that it targeted a training compound belonging to Hamas in southern Lebanon.
The Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee wrote on X: "The Israeli army struck militants operating inside a Hamas training compound in the Ain El Hilweh area in southern Lebanon."
He added: "Hamas operatives used the targeted compound for training and preparation with the aim of planning and carrying out operations against the Israeli army and Israel."
He continued: "Before the strike, steps were taken to avoid harming civilians, including the use of precision munitions, aerial reconnaissance, and other intelligence information."
He concluded: "The Israeli army is acting against the presence of Hamas in Lebanon and will continue to act forcefully against Hamas operatives wherever they operate."
