Marking Lebanon’s Independence Day, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea expressed his hope that future celebrations would reflect a truly sovereign, stable state.
During a meeting with a delegation of LF students, Geagea stated that while progress has been made, completing the path to full independence “will not come through handshakes or procrastination.”
He pledged to work tirelessly so that the next generation inherits a better Lebanon and underlined the importance of serious participation in the upcoming parliamentary elections. “We are not seeking seats or ministries,” he said, “but aiming for a strong parliamentary bloc capable of shifting Lebanon’s course.”
Geagea rejected any talk of postponing elections, asserting that the constitution and its deadlines must be respected. “There is no place in our vocabulary for delay or manipulation. From now on, constitutional timelines must be honored precisely,” he concluded.
