Iran’s Foreign Ministry said that “procedures related to the accreditation of the new Iranian ambassador to Lebanon are underway, and we hope they proceed normally.”

It added that “we call on our Lebanese friends to focus on understanding and dialogue among the various components of Lebanese society.”

The ministry also said it “prefers to avoid statements or positions that distract Lebanon from focusing on safeguarding its sovereignty and territorial unity.”
