UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert wrote on X that it is a significant development to see the Lebanese Armed Forces confirm they have established field control south of the Litani River.

She described the step as notable progress, while stressing that much remains to be done. 

Hennis-Plasschaert added that the milestone announced reflects the commitment of the Lebanese authorities and strengthens the role of the mechanism established under the November 24, 2024 understanding.
