Head of the parliamentary Finance and Budget Committee, MP Ibrahim Kanaan, met at Parliament with French presidential envoy Jacques de Lajugie, in the presence of the head of the Economic Section at the French Embassy in Beirut, François Sporer, and the embassy’s financial adviser, Vincent De Drée.

The meeting focused on financial reforms, the recovery plan, and the related legislation. France reaffirmed its support for Lebanon in achieving economic recovery and safeguarding the rights of Lebanese society.

MP Kanaan stressed "the right of depositors to recover their savings and lifetime earnings."
