Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri received Interior Minister Ahmed Hajjar, at the Second Presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh.

On the other hand, Speaker Berri received a congratulatory cable from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the occasion of the Hijri New Year.
In his congratulatory cable, President El-Sisi said, "On the anniversary of the noble Prophet’s Hijra, from which we draw inspiration from its noble teachings, we pray to God Almighty that it be a year of goodness and prosperity, and that it brings security and peace to the peoples of the entire Islamic nation, wishing the brotherly Lebanese people further progress and prosperity."
