Watch: Woman Abducted in Broad Daylight
Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces (ISF) claimed to have arrested two suspects within 24 hours connected to the abduction of a 19-year-old Palestinian woman from her workplace in Sidon.

According to an ISF statement, the woman was abducted on August 7 by two men traveling in a black BMW in the Hlaliyeh area in Sidon. Footage of the incident circulated on social media, causing panic in the area.

The ISF said its Information Branch quickly identified the suspects as a 20-year-old Lebanese man and a 23-year-old Syrian national. They were arrested in simultaneous operations in Hlaliyeh and Majdelyoun.

The woman was found in Sidon after the suspects had released her.

During questioning, the Lebanese suspect allegedly admitted to taking part in the abduction because the woman had refused to enter into a relationship with him. He said he drove her to a house in Ansar before releasing her and returning her to Sidon after news of the abduction spread and security forces launched their investigation.

The second suspect also confessed to his involvement, according to the ISF.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against both suspects, who were referred to the relevant authorities on the instructions of the judiciary.
