The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation issued the following statement:

Following a series of exceptional security measures, an Army unit arrested Lebanese national (A.W.) in the town of Shaath, Baalbek. He is considered one of the most wanted suspects for opening fire and launching rockets at an Army patrol, injuring several soldiers. He is also the subject of numerous arrest warrants for crimes including armed robbery and theft, as well as drug use and trafficking. A quantity of drugs was found in his possession.

The seized items were handed over, and an investigation into the detainee was launched under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.
