President Joseph Aoun visited the Port of Tripoli, congratulating it and the Port of Beirut on joining the India–Middle East–Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).
“Congratulations once again on the inclusion of the ports of Tripoli and Beirut in the IMEC project. Having two ports included, rather than just one, is an achievement that requires follow-up steps to turn it into reality,” Aoun said.
He added that Tripoli now has an opportunity to become one of the region’s leading ports, stressing that the state has a duty to support and assist those working to develop it.
“Our goal is to develop the port into a vital economic hub for the region and for Lebanon as a whole,” he said.
