The Board of Directors of Électricité du Liban issued the following statement:
Following its demand that public administrations and institutions with outstanding payments, including Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport, settle their dues or face electricity disconnection, Électricité du Liban clarified that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation had contacted the board to avoid a power cut.
The airport administration pledged to make an immediate payment, arrange a payment schedule for its overdue bills, and pay its monthly electricity bills regularly starting this month.
The board urged all public administrations and institutions that have not yet contacted Électricité du Liban to follow the airport’s example and settle their outstanding payments with the utility.
