The Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday in which it announced that Minister Gebran Bassil gave his instructions to the representative of Lebanon to the United Nations, to file an immediate complaint to the Council to condemn the Israeli violation.
"The Israeli violations of Lebanese sovereignty, which have increased in the recent period, reaching 481 violations in two months, in addtition to the recent violation of two drones, illustrates Israel's blatant attempt to attack civilian property, a serious violation of national sovereignty, an attack on Lebanon and a serious threat to the stability of the region," the statement said.
The statement added that "Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gebran Bassil gave his instructions to the representative of Lebanon to the United Nations to file an immediate complaint at the Security Council against this dangerous violation of Lebanese sovereignty, confirming in the same context Lebanon's commitment to the implementation of Resolution 1701.
The statement also stressed that "Lebanon's commitment to international resolutions and stability does not undermine its right to defend national sovereignty."
