The Egyptian presidency announced that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from Jordanian King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein, touching on the situation in Palestine.
Advisor Ahmed Fahmy, the official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic, stated that “the call included deliberations on the ongoing escalation between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, where the recent developments were reviewed and the priority of concerted regional and international efforts to work to stop the escalation and violence, and exercise self-restraint in order to prevent bloodshed and further deterioration of the situation.”
It was also agreed to “continue and intensify consultations and coordination between Egypt and Jordan with the aim of strengthening efforts to achieve calm, in order to advance the path of a comprehensive and just settlement of the Palestinian issue, on the basis of the two-state solution, in accordance with the relevant references of international legitimacy, and in a way that ensures the establishment of peace and stability in the region,” according to “ Russia Today " news agency.
