US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will continue his whirlwind Middle East crisis tour as he looks to seek a new truce and “an enduring end” to Israel’s war on Gaza.
Yesterday, Blinken held talks in Riyadh with the Saudi crown prince.
Today, he will be visiting Egypt before flying to Qatar where he will meet the emir and the prime minister. He is then scheduled to depart for Tel Aviv in the evening.
Blinken’s fifth diplomatic push since the war began has been given fresh urgency as Israeli forces press further south in the Gaza Strip towards Rafah on the border with Egypt where more than half the Strip’s population has taken shelter.
