The city of Alexandria in northern Egypt was hit overnight by an unprecedented storm that included heavy thunderstorms, snowfall, and strong winds exceeding 50 km/h.

The severe weather caused a significant drop in temperatures, while several areas in the governorate were affected by intense thunder showers, amid warnings that the state of instability may continue in the coming hours.
