Two Earthquakes Struck Turkey and Greece
Two powerful earthquakes struck areas near the Turkish-Greek border on Monday night, causing casualties and material damage.

In Turkey, several people were killed and others injured as a result of a 5.8-magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of the southwestern tourist city of Marmaris.

Almost simultaneously, another 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Greece's northern border with Turkey, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC). Residents of large areas in Greece and Turkey felt the two tremors, causing panic.

Geological authorities warned of the possibility of aftershocks in the coming hours.
