Israeli Army Apologizes: Strike Did Not Target Lebanese Army
The Israeli army announced targeting an excavator in the Naqoura area of southern Lebanon that was preparing to rebuild Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in the area.

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that “during the strike, a technical malfunction led to the ordnance failing to detonate and falling to the ground, after which reports emerged of several Lebanese army soldiers being injured.” He added: “An examination is underway to determine whether the incident resulted from the detonation of Israeli weapons.”

He said: “The Israeli army regrets the injury of Lebanese army soldiers, and an investigation into the incident will be conducted.”

He went on to say: “The strike came in response to Hezbollah’s attempts to rebuild infrastructure in violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, and did not target Lebanese army soldiers.”
