Heavy rains in Tokyo have led to the cancellation of more than 240 flights at Haneda Airport over two days.
According to NHK TV, citing Haneda International Airport’s management, the torrential rains, accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds that hit Tokyo and surrounding areas, caused over 240 flight cancellations in total across two days.
A total of 129 flights, both arrivals and departures at Haneda, were canceled due to severe weather conditions.
This included 70 flights operated by All Nippon Airways and 42 flights by Japan Airlines.
NHK reported that the disruptions affected more than 20,000 passengers, warning that further delays and cancellations could not be ruled out.
