Watch: One of the largest Russian attacks
The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, came under heavy attack by drones and missiles early today, in what independent observers described as ‘one of the largest Russian attacks on the Ukrainian capital and its surrounding region since the start of the war.’

Kyiv’s military administration chief, Tymur Tkachynko, said on Telegram that at least three people were killed and around 10 others injured in the city.

For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia launched around 500 drones and more than 40 missiles during the overnight assault on Ukraine.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha stated that Russia carried out a ‘massive’ airstrike on the country with hundreds of missiles and drones. He added that the attack underscores the need to impose further sanctions on Russia to force it to halt its aggression.

He wrote on X, referring to Russian President Vladimir Putin: "He must feel the danger of continuing this war — for himself, his associates, his economy, and his regime. That is what can make him stop this senseless war."
