Iran has reaffirmed its willingness to engage in dialogue with the United States.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said his country is prepared to adopt an agreement that guarantees it will not possess nuclear weapons in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.
In a post on X, he added that Iran is also ready to engage with regional countries to safeguard security and stability.
Speaking during a visit to Istanbul, Araghchi emphasized that Tehran welcomes Turkish efforts to promote peace and stability in the region.
However, he noted that “there is currently no serious basis for negotiations with America.”
In an interview with CNN Turk, he said Iran favors dialogue and diplomacy, stressing that any real negotiations must take place in an environment free of threats and pressure.
During a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, Araghchi stated that “Iran is ready to resume nuclear talks with the U.S. on an equal footing, provided the negotiations are fair and just,” and reiterated that “the country’s defensive and missile capabilities are non-negotiable.”
