Haidar, Bint Jbeil Municipality discuss destruction, displacement and reconstruction needs

Labor Minister Mohammad Haidar received a delegation from Bint Jbeil Municipality headed by Mohammad Bazzi for talks on the destruction sustained by the city and the repercussions of continued displacement on its residents.
According to a statement issued by the delegation, municipal officials briefed Haidar on damage to residential neighborhoods and commercial, educational, health and cultural facilities, as well as historic and heritage landmarks, particularly the mosque quarter and Grand Mosque.
The delegation presented Haidar with a comprehensive report titled "Bint Jbeil: Memory of the Crime," documenting the damage.
Discussions also addressed following up on the destruction and alleged war crimes with relevant Lebanese and international bodies, as well as the environmental repercussions of Israeli attacks, damage to infrastructure and vital sectors, and the impact on natural resources and the local ecosystem.
The municipality said the visit was part of efforts to secure support, preserve residents’ rights and advance recovery, return and reconstruction.
