Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian affirmed Dar al-Fatwa’s and Lebanon’s Muslim community’s solidarity with Saudi Arabia following repeated attacks on the Kingdom, most recently the attack on Medina.

In a statement, Derian strongly condemned the attack, saying it violated the sanctity of the city of the Prophet Mohammad and constituted "a blatant breach of religious values and a provocation to the dignity of Muslims around the world."

He called on the international community to act urgently and firmly to deter such attacks against Saudi Arabia and the Two Holy Mosques, and urged measures to hold the Houthis accountable, describing them as "terrorists."
