Vilnius Airport briefly closed after drone approaches from Belarus
A drone believed to have approached Lithuania from Belarus prompted the temporary closure of Vilnius Airport and the scrambling of NATO aircraft, according to Lithuanian authorities cited by Reuters. The airport was later reopened after the heightened alert was lifted.

The incident came as Moldova’s president warned that Russian missiles and drones had entered Moldovan airspace and exploded on Moldovan territory, saying the war was “dangerously” drawing closer to the country.

Lithuanian authorities later confirmed the reopening of Vilnius Airport following the drone alert.
