Barely a day goes by without what is described as fabricated news circulate against President Joseph Aoun by figures affiliated with Hezbollah, whether through Al-Akhbar newspaper or other. This was the case with reports claiming that security chiefs had been barred from attending the commemoration of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and again when Aoun challenged a single provision of the banking restructuring law, among many similar examples.

It is also notable that when such reports are circulated, several pages created by Hezbollah and the Free Patriotic Movement repost and promote them, with the aim of targeting the President of the Republic.
