The political deputy of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Yadollah Javani, claims that foreign warships have withdrawn more than 1,000 kilometres from the Gulf.

Javani said that the armed forces’ missile, drone and naval capabilities had changed the balance in the Gulf and the Sea of Oman, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.

“Previously, dozens of foreign warships and vessels roamed the Gulf,” he said. “Today, the enemy’s fleet has moved more than a thousand kilometres away from our territorial waters and does not dare approach.”

He said that the region’s future would be shaped by the “collective security of Islamic countries and the complete withdrawal of the aggressors.”
