While carrying out a raid to seize medicines at warehouses belonging to a pharmaceutical company in the Galerie Semaan area, a 15-member patrol from the Central Criminal Investigation Department was surrounded by dozens of armed men affiliated with Hezbollah, MTV learned.
The operation was conducted under a warrant issued by Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation Ahmad Rami Hajj, following a referral from Health Minister Rakan Nasreddine. The aim was to seize medicines deemed spoiled and stored in violation of required health standards.
According to MTV’s website sources, the armed men ordered the brigadier leading the patrol to withdraw, preventing him from sealing the warehouses with red wax.
The brigadier contacted the Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, who advised him to request support from Army Command and the Internal Security Forces Directorate General, as the number of armed men had grown to several hundred.
