US President Donald Trump announced that he has issued orders to the U.S. Navy to open fire on any boat laying mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on the “Truth Social” platform, he said: “I have ordered the U.S. Navy to fire upon and destroy any boat, no matter how small (as all their 159 warships have been sunk to the bottom of the sea), that lays mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz. There must be no hesitation.”
He added: “Our minesweepers are currently clearing the strait. I have ordered this operation to continue, but at a level that is three times greater.”
