US President Donald Trump once again spoke about the greatness of the United States on the 250th anniversary of the country's independence.
During a speech at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota on Independence Day, Trump revealed that the United States "gave Iran a one-week deadline to halt operations so it could hold the funeral of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as a gesture of goodwill."
He affirmed that the Iranians are eagerly seeking, by every possible means, to reach a political settlement with the United States.
He added that his administration had dealt very heavy blows to Tehran and had resolved the confrontation with Venezuela in a single day.
Trump said that America has already entered its golden age, adding, "We are still at the starting point," and argued that no other country in the world has made greater positive contributions to humanity than the United States.
He warned against the Democratic Party returning to the presidency and to power, saying that if they did, they would seek to pass laws and constitutional amendments that would eliminate any chance for Republicans to win future elections.
He also said that there are "newcomers to the United States who embrace communist ideas that are completely at odds with the American way of life and economic success," stressing that "the conflict is not political over taxes and regulations, but rather a confrontation with communism, which represents a deadly threat to freedom." He further argued that the American identity is under "renewed attack from fanatics and extremists within the country."
