The Forecasting Department at the Meteorological Service of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation has predicted that tomorrow’s weather will be generally partly cloudy, with ice on mountain and inland roads in the early morning and at night starting from 1,400 meters. Temperatures will rise slightly but remain below seasonal averages.
The bulletin stated:
General situation: The low-pressure system over Lebanon and the eastern Mediterranean is receding, with cold air masses still influencing the weather. Conditions will gradually stabilize. Lebanon is expected to be affected from Sunday by a high-pressure area, leading to a rise in temperatures, which will return to seasonal averages.
Warning: Ice formation is expected during the night and early morning starting from 1,300 meters.
Note: Average temperatures in January: Beirut 12–19°C, Tripoli 9–17°C, Zahle 3–13°C.
Expected weather in Lebanon:
Friday: Partly cloudy with fog over the highlands, slight drop in temperatures. Light scattered rain is expected before noon, with some snow starting at 1,400 meters. Weather will gradually stabilize in the afternoon, turning partly cloudy at night. Ice formation is expected on mountain and inland roads, with a risk of slippery conditions.
Saturday: Generally partly cloudy, with ice on mountain and inland roads in the early morning and at night starting from 1,400 meters. Temperatures will rise slightly but remain below seasonal averages.
Sunday: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy with high clouds, with a further rise in temperatures reaching seasonal averages. Ice formation warnings remain for mountain and inland roads, especially above 1,500 meters.
Monday: Generally partly cloudy, with temperatures continuing to rise above seasonal averages.
Temperatures: Coast 12–19°C, mountains 2–9°C, inland 5–12°C
Surface winds: Southwest to northwest during the day, north to northeast at night, at 15–35 km/h
Visibility: Moderate along the coast, reduced in the highlands due to fog
Relative humidity on the coast: 60–80%
Sea conditions: Moderate waves, sea surface temperature 20°C
Atmospheric pressure: 765 mmHg
Sunrise: 6:43 am
Sunset: 4:41 pm
