The Ministry of Public Works and Transport issued a statement responding to what it described as recent positions and criticism targeting certain administrative and organizational measures it has taken.
The ministry clarified that any transfers, assignments, or organizational steps fall within the framework of improving workflow and enhancing administrative performance and public service. It stressed that these measures are implemented in line with applicable laws, regulations, and established administrative procedures and norms, including known balance considerations and equal opportunity principles, with the aim of placing the right person in the right position in the public interest.
Moreover, the Ministry’s statement affirmed that its approach to managing its departments and institutions is an institutional reform-oriented one, focused on activating administrations and ensuring continuity of public service despite significant vacancies, and free from populist considerations or narrow political calculations that do not serve reform objectives or citizens’ interests.
The ministry also noted that the recent measures do not constitute permanent appointments to the civil service establishment, but were taken to ensure the regular functioning of work during a transitional phase affecting certain facilities, pending the completion of the legal processes required for permanent appointments in accordance with applicable laws and decrees.
The statement further added that these temporary measures covered a very limited number of positions relative to actual staffing needs, are inherently transitional, and do not undermine principles of justice or national partnership, nor do they target any group or component. The ministry said that allegations of a sectarian or exclusionary nature are not based on objective facts and fall outside their proper administrative context.
The statement concluded by calling on all concerned parties to exercise accuracy in addressing this issue and to refrain from drawing it into polemics or emotional rhetoric. The ministry also reaffirmed that its doors remain open to any inquiry or request for clarification through official administrative channels, in keeping with principles of transparency and responsibility, and reiterated that its overarching goal is to serve the public good, strengthen trust in institutions, and move forward with administrative reform in full compliance with the law.
