Salam follows up on rescue efforts after Tripoli building collapse
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said he has been closely monitoring since early morning the developments surrounding the collapse of a previously evacuated, structurally unsound building in the Qobbeh area of Tripoli, in coordination with Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Council Brig. Gen. Bassam Al-Nabulsi.

In a statement, Salam said he followed the rescue operation of family members who had returned to the building and instructed that all necessary assistance be provided to them.

He also stressed the need to raise the level of preparedness and intensify coordination with the Disaster Risk Management Unit at the Grand Serail, the Municipality of Tripoli, and all relevant authorities.

Salam underscored that the government places top priority on addressing buildings at risk of collapse in Tripoli and is working to secure the necessary funding as quickly as possible, affirming that the protection of citizens’ lives and safety remains an absolute government priority.
