Hezbollah Claims Responsibility for Missile Strike on Israel
Hezbollah said in a statement that it had launched a salvo of precision missiles and a swarm of drones shortly after midnight Sunday–Monday, March 2, 2026, targeting the Mishmar HaCarmel missile defense site south of Haifa.

The group said the attack was carried out in response to what it described as ongoing Israeli aggression and the killing of its leaders and members, and as an act of defense of Lebanon and its people.

Hezbollah added that continued Israeli attacks and assassinations give it what it called the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing, describing the strike as a “legitimate defensive response.”
