Aoun Condemns the Targeting of Journalist Amal Khalil: Israel’s Aim Is to Conceal the Truth
President Joseph Aoun expressed his sorrow over the killing of journalist Amal Khalil as a result of the Israeli shelling that targeted the town of At Tiri yesterday, in which journalist Zainab Faraj was also injured.

President Aoun considered that Israel’s deliberate and repeated targeting of journalists is aimed at concealing the truth about its aggressive actions against Lebanon. He added that such acts constitute crimes against humanity punishable under international laws and norms, and should prompt international intervention to put an end to them.

The president extended his condolences to the family of the martyred journalist, who has joined the ranks of journalists who lost their lives before her on the path of martyrdom on southern soil. He also offered his sympathies to the family of Al-Akhbar newspaper and to the Lebanese and Arab media community, praying for mercy upon her and patience and comfort for them all.

He also wished a speedy recovery to her colleague Zainab Faraj, who was injured in the same attack.
