Israeli army spokesperson Ella Wawiya wrote on her X account: “The Israeli army reveals: Hezbollah members were spotted attempting to interfere with the Qaraoun Dam.”

She said: “The Israeli army reveals that a number of Hezbollah members were spotted earlier this week attempting to interfere with the Qaraoun Dam, which is considered a national and strategic infrastructure facility for the Lebanese state, and those members were targeted in an airstrike. The Qaraoun Dam is a national infrastructure facility of major strategic importance to Lebanon, as it represents the country’s largest water source and is also a central artery for energy, electricity, and agriculture in Lebanon.

People of Lebanon, Hezbollah, which has led your country to ruin and destruction, attempted to target a strategic national infrastructure facility, the targeting of which could cause severe damage to Lebanon’s economy and to the Lebanese state itself.

To Hezbollah, the Israeli army warns that it will not allow any attempt to harm the dam and will act with great force against such attempts.

The Israeli army considers the Lebanese state responsible for protecting national infrastructure facilities and preventing their exploitation for terrorist purposes by Hezbollah.”
