After MP Firas Hamdan objected to the swift passage of the law, citing the additional financial burden it would place on the state, Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri responded sarcastically: “My dear, you’ve been giving me quite a hard time… that’s enough now.” Hamdan replied with a smile: “You certainly have a big heart, Mr. Speaker.”
