Israel and Turkey in Secret Talks?
Israel’s Channel 12 quoted an Israeli military source as saying that Israel "does not wish to turn Turkey into an enemy," noting the existence of "secret channels between the two sides to convey messages and avoid friction."

The source added that Israel is "compelled to act" when such messages prove ineffective, alluding to the possibility of carrying out further strikes.

According to the source, Israel has established red lines regarding any Turkish military presence in Syria—specifically the deployment of air defense systems, drones, and missiles.

On Tuesday, Israel launched raids on the Abu al-Duhur airbase, justifying the attack by citing its opposition to a Turkish military presence near its borders.

In response, Turkey denied the presence of any of its troops or military delegations at the targeted base either before or during the attack, while Damascus also denied the existence of Turkish plans to establish a permanent military outpost within Syrian territory.

Separately, the Israeli public broadcaster "Kan" reported that Israeli security officials had informed the United States that Turkey is preparing to deploy a radar system at Abu al-Duhur airport—to be followed by the deployment of air defense systems operated by Turkish military personnel—and that this move could alter the regional balance of power.
