Two people were killed and four others wounded in Russian strikes on the Ukrainian capital overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, AFP reported, citing local authorities.

Dozens of explosions were heard across Kyiv after Ukraine’s air force warned of an incoming ballistic missile attack and later said missiles were heading toward the capital.

AFP journalists reported widespread blasts and disruptions to electricity supplies.

Kyiv’s military administration said on Telegram that two people had been killed and four injured in the attacks.

The strikes come as Kyiv faces increasingly frequent Russian drone and missile attacks, with the war entering its fifth year.
