Watch: Smuggled Botox and Fillers Found in Matn
The Directorate General of Customs announced that its Anti-Smuggling Division, following extensive monitoring and surveillance in the Antelias area, seized a quantity of smuggled medicines and cosmetic injections.

By tracing the source of the seized items and following their distribution route, the division identified a location where additional quantities were being stored. Following authorization from the competent judicial authorities, a division unit raided a residential apartment in the Matn area, where it seized a large quantity of smuggled injections and cosmetic products. Those involved were taken, along with the seized items, to the division’s headquarters to complete the legal procedures and investigations under the supervision of the competent judicial authorities.

The Directorate General of Customs warned citizens that recent operations have revealed that some smugglers are resorting to concealment and evasion tactics, including using residential apartments, company offices and commercial premises to hide and store smuggled goods away from locations that might raise suspicion, before redistributing them on the market.

The Directorate stressed that efforts to combat this type of smuggling do not stop at seizing the goods, but also involve tracing their source, how they entered the country, where they were stored and how they were distributed, with the aim of uncovering the networks and individuals involved.

The Directorate General of Customs therefore renewed its call on citizens to cooperate and report any locations, warehouses or apartments suspected of being used to store or distribute smuggled goods, allowing the authorities to verify the information, trace the goods and take the necessary legal action.

It stressed that protecting public health begins before products of unknown origin reach consumers, and that stopping such goods from moving from storage facilities to the market is the first line of defense for public safety.
