President Aoun reaffirms commitment to safeguarding Ogero employees’ rights
President of the Republic, General Joseph Aoun, on Monday discussed the Lebanon Telecommunications Company file with Telecommunications Minister, Engineer Charles Hajj, reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding the rights of Ogero employees and ensuring their transfer to the company. President Aoun also stressed the need to expedite its launch, given the sector’s importance to the national economy.

Minister Hajj also briefed the President on efforts to address unlicensed internet networks, in coordination with the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority and within the scope of its legal powers. President Aoun emphasized the importance of encouraging Ogero and the private sector to establish licensed networks under equal conditions for all, in order to accelerate the transition from limited internet access to broadband services, within the framework of compliance with the law and without imposing any price increases on citizens.

The President of the Republic also received the President of the Constitutional Council, Judge Tannous Mechleb, who briefed him on preparations for a conference to be held in Lebanon on December 8 and 9, focusing on "Comparisons Between Constitutional Councils and Courts."

The conference aims to benefit from the expertise and experiences of these bodies in Arab countries and North African countries.

Judge Mechleb also briefed President Aoun on the outcomes of his visits to Egypt, Romania, and Spain, where he met with several senior officials, as well as the heads of constitutional councils and courts.
