Kremlin: We are monitoring the situation on the India-Pakistan border
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow is closely monitoring the escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border with deep concern. Responding to a question from the Novosti agency, Peskov said: "Of course, we are following with great concern the tense atmosphere that has developed along the border between the two countries."

Meanwhile, the Indian Foreign Ministry announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin held a phone conversation discussing the recent attack in Pahalgam, located in the Jammu and Kashmir region of India.

In a related development, The Times of India reported that the Indian Air Force has been placed on high alert along the border with Pakistan.

Tensions between India and Pakistan have significantly worsened following the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which killed 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali national. India claims to have evidence linking Pakistan’s intelligence agency to the attack, which was carried out by the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba. In response, both New Delhi and Islamabad imposed reciprocal restrictions on diplomatic staff, suspended bilateral agreements, and closed their airspace to each other's aircraft. Both sides also reported exchanges of fire across the Line of Control and announced retaliatory measures.
