Palestinian media reported that more than 100 people were killed in an Israeli airstrike that targeted homes in the city of Beit Lahia and the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza last night.
Gaza's Civil Defense said, "Since midnight, our teams have been rushing from one strike to another and have not stopped working for a single moment due to the heavy bombardment in the northern part of the Strip."
The Shehab news agency noted that Israeli aircraft were obstructing civil defense and ambulance crews as they attempted to recover bodies and rescue the wounded from targeted homes in western Beit Lahia.
Early Friday morning, Israeli warplanes launched a strike on the city of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza.
Israeli jets also carried out airstrikes on the towns of Khuza'a and al-Qarara, east of Khan Younis in the southern part of the Strip, while artillery shelling targeted southern areas of the city.
