A video of the gunman outside the Jewish Museum in Washington surfaced on media platforms, which resulted in the killing of employees affiliated with the Israeli embassy.

The video shows the suspect shouting "Free Palestine" as he was being arrested by police.

Media outlets, citing police sources, reported that the detained shooter is Elias Rodriguez, 30 years old, noting that "he had no known prior offenses that would have placed him under law enforcement surveillance."

The Washington police chief stated that the suspect was seen wandering outside the museum before opening fire and was later arrested by security personnel.

He confirmed that “the ongoing investigations are still in their early stages, and we are still looking into the motives behind the shooting… We have received no intelligence suggesting a terrorist act or hate crime in the city.”
