Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said the Gaza Strip was witnessing "genocide" and called on the European Union to immediately suspend its cooperation agreement with Israel, according to Agence France-Presse.
Speaking to reporters in Brussels on the sidelines of a European Council meeting, Sanchez said, "A catastrophic situation of genocide is unfolding in Gaza," following the EU's diplomatic services' submission of a report on the humanitarian situation in the Strip.
He added, "In this context, Europe must suspend its cooperation agreement with Israel, and it must do so immediately."
