A massive fire broke out in a luxury hotel that opened just two months ago in the Karkh district of Iraq's capital, Baghdad, according to Germany’s DPA news agency.

Flames were seen engulfing the upper floors of the hotel as thick black smoke billowed into the sky. Civil defense teams rushed to the scene to battle the blaze.
