At least 16 people were killed in the crash of a Bangladeshi Air Force training aircraft on the campus of Dhaka University, according to fire services.
In a statement, the military’s Public Relations Department said the incident occurred in the Uttara area, north of Dhaka, adding: “The F-7 BGI training aircraft belonging to the Bangladesh Air Force crashed in Uttara. The plane had taken off at 13:06 (07:06 GMT).”
Local newspaper Prothom Alo, quoting the duty officer at the Fire Department’s control room, reported that at least four people were injured and taken to a nearby military hospital.
